Adriana Andivia: Travel Guide: Bangkok

Posted on April 26, 2013 – 00:00

I promised so here I come with the first delivery of the travel guide. Announced As we begin our journey in Bangkok, main stage Bangkok's sky (could not be otherwise), the city that saw Ari Margot his prison. Although, for any of us, thank God we do not have a life as complicated as these guys, is a place worth seeing I personally recommend to all that you have a restless spirit.

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, and its name means "village of the wild plum." Although in reality, only foreigners we name this way, the Thais call their capital aa nation Mahanakhon Krung Thep (City of Angels).

Well, and after wikipedia now I'll just make the point. Here I present some of the places that serve as the backdrop for the novel.

Sukhumvit:
The area where the apartment was located Alker Salvador is one of the most cosmopolitan of the Thai capital, an endless parade of elegant blocks of flats, shops, restaurants, hotels ... A must see for every tourist in that blend the best and worst of Bangkok.

ConceptCM2:
Considered one of the best nightclubs in Bangkok, the restaurant offers a wide range of activities: from enjoy live band performances to rest quietly in a quiet corner in which to converse in the greatest intimacy or play pool.
This was where they met Margot and Ari.

Lumpini Park:
Built by King Rama VI in 1920, as any park is a public open space full of trees and children's areas. Although today is in the heart of a major business areas of Bangkok at the time of its creation was built on the outskirts of the city.

Floating Market:
This is the place to Bangkok he likes to Ari and me too. A most picturesque site where you can find everything from food to the coveted souvenirs among tourists. In fact, the activity in them no different from the rest of the markets, but it is a clear demonstration of Thai culture worth seeing.

Sirocco:
An elegant restaurant in which, besides the food, you can enjoy superb views of the city of Bangkok. A great local, unfortunately, is beyond the scope of the pockets of many of us.

Bus didn't fill until the same day when I tried

I tried to get on the bus down there right before the full moon party and it filled up earlier that day. I was able to get on the one the next day with no problems. Any reputable travel agent on KSR can book it for you. If you aren't sure who's reputable, just check your guide book for recommendations. Many places labeled "TAT" aren't actually official TAT offices. Better to stick to the smaller places and ask for prices at a few if you're unsure.
I haven't tried the train. The bus is nice. Very comfortable, and saves you a few dollars on your room that night. You can book the bus and ferry at the same time.
I'd wait until a day or two before you plan on leaving, just because you may find that you want to get out of Bangkok sooner than you planned :)
