Grand Palace, Bangkok (Thailand)
Golden Buddha Temple (Wat Trimitr)
Bangkok is a chaotic city with a hectic day and night, supercontaminada of smoke, noise and smells of the many food stalls are all over the streets with cheap price and acceptable hygiene . My wife move from Singapore here, he found it depressing: dilapidated houses, congested traffic, dirt in the streets, other social forms ..
. instead I only saw it differently, a different lifestyle than the European, but I saw poverty and then struck me as did India, no begging, even our initiative was to give alms to a ragged boy, without his request , but that's very much appreciated

Bomb blasts damage fragile Indonesian economy
2002-10-14 10:53:00 by baliSoutheast Asian markets tumbled Monday as investors across the region reacted to the Bali bombings that killed more than 180 and sparked fears of new terrorism.
In Jakarta, stocks tumbled more than 9 percent, and markets sank in Bangkok, Manila and Kuala Lumpur on investor fears of "Bali Effect" copycat attacks.
The Indonesian rupiah plummeted against the dollar.
Some invest...iser canceled all its charter trips to Bali until Christmas.
Meanwhile, organizers of an upcoming energy conference, the Seventh Annual Condensate Forum, shifted their meeting from Bali to Singapore because of security concerns.
More than 5 million foreigners visited Indonesia in 2001 -- about 1.5 million to Bali alone -- accounting for about $5 billion in foreign exchange earnings
An idea..
2003-03-07 11:20:29 by KatesHouse...i got a postcard from a travel agency, but i don't want to be accused of spamming...30 day cruise, free air, Bangkok to Rome...includes Vietnam, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, India, Petra, Luxor and Cairo, Greece, Turkey, Naples...inside cabin $2689. I suppose a single person would have to pay 50 percent more, so maybe $4,000. April 8th. Wish I was going...
Fly to Asia then buy tickets onwards
2005-02-26 16:26:16 by wat2dowat2doGet your ticket to Singapore or Bangkok return to the USA. there are absolutely great deals for $600-800 with people like Cathay and Singapore Air and Thai.
Then buy your tickets for inter-Asia and Africa from there. I have personally done this and saved perhaps 40percent off the US originating price.
BKK and Singapore are excellent hubs for Africa.
I have used the following... different agents.
You can usually get tickets for the next day (and spend a day or two in BKK checking out temples while you wait).
Another agency I have seen operating in BKK for years is
/> Chekc out an agent in Singapore too. Go to the nicest hotel in town and ask their concierge for a recommendation of an agent. I think they have similarly priced flights.
Good luck
