My husband and I with our itinerary we tried to discover a part of the three faces of this country: the chaotic and humid Bangkok where ancient and modern meet, the crisp air and the mild atmosphere of Chiang Mai, in the North, with its traditions and the lush vegetation, the white beach and the warm waters of Koh Samui in the South
Saturday, June 25, 2010:
It starts! We opted for a direct flight with the good company Thai Airways.
05:55 hours arriving in Bangkok, we took a taxi to the hotel's Sukhumvit (500 baht, specify "Meter, please." = Operate meter, traffic permitting travel time 45 minutes).
Should change very little money in the bank at the airport because the exchange rate is more favorable
(1 EUR = 43.700 THB).
We chose to stay in the DREAM HOTEL BANGKOK SOI 15, Sukhumvit
(The room is delivered to 14.30).
It 'a design hotel but very comfortable especially in a strategic location just 5 minutes from BTS Sky Train: Asoke and MRT Metro': Sukhumvit, also nearby for dinner in the evening there is the well-known Thai restaurant Cabbages & Condoms in SOI 12 and 11 at the restaurant SUK SOI 11.
At 8:00 in the hotel came to pick Lakis, an Italian guy really smart that I knew through the stories of accidental tourists, who has been a guide for the city all day showing us the main temples, telling us how to live in a great metropolis, making us the first taste Thai flavors ...
Bangkok Living with him was a great experience, look for it on Facebook.
DIY Tour to the discovery of the ancient capital city of Ayutthaya World Heritage by UNESCO:
From Bangkok, take the Metro: Sukhumvit up at the train station Hua Lamphong train departing every hour, journey time 1 hour and a half (the experience of the Thai train and the view from the window of the countryside is worth the trip ...)
You can do the tour of the temples outside the island with the tuk-tuk negotiating the price, then the fun part is to visit the Temples archaeological park on the island moving by bike (the bike rental is on the left when you get off the ferry).
Guided tour booked through the agency of the girlfriend of Lachish: "market float of Damneon + Bridge on the River Kwai + Tiger Temple."
Bangkok Airways domestic flight (if you buy on the Internet in advance saves a lot, the site is well done) Chiang Mai and in the afternoon visit the old town and its temples.
It is best to stay at a guesthouse within the walls of the city.
Council on Lisaan small restaurant and the experience of Khantoke Dinner with traditional dances to 'Old Chiang Mai Cultural Center (it is made for tourists is true, but I appreciated the effort to know the culture of the North).

Bomb blasts damage fragile Indonesian economy2002-10-14 10:53:00 by bali
Southeast Asian markets tumbled Monday as investors across the region reacted to the Bali bombings that killed more than 180 and sparked fears of new terrorism.
In Jakarta, stocks tumbled more than 9 percent, and markets sank in Bangkok, Manila and Kuala Lumpur on investor fears of "Bali Effect" copycat attacks.
The Indonesian rupiah plummeted against the dollar.
Some invest...iser canceled all its charter trips to Bali until Christmas.
Meanwhile, organizers of an upcoming energy conference, the Seventh Annual Condensate Forum, shifted their meeting from Bali to Singapore because of security concerns.
More than 5 million foreigners visited Indonesia in 2001 -- about 1.5 million to Bali alone -- accounting for about $5 billion in foreign exchange earnings
An idea..2003-03-07 11:20:29 by KatesHouse
...i got a postcard from a travel agency, but i don't want to be accused of spamming...30 day cruise, free air, Bangkok to Rome...includes Vietnam, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, India, Petra, Luxor and Cairo, Greece, Turkey, Naples...inside cabin $2689. I suppose a single person would have to pay 50 percent more, so maybe $4,000. April 8th. Wish I was going...
Fly to Asia then buy tickets onwards2005-02-26 16:26:16 by wat2dowat2do
Get your ticket to Singapore or Bangkok return to the USA. there are absolutely great deals for $600-800 with people like Cathay and Singapore Air and Thai.
Then buy your tickets for inter-Asia and Africa from there. I have personally done this and saved perhaps 40percent off the US originating price.
BKK and Singapore are excellent hubs for Africa.
I have used the following... different agents.
You can usually get tickets for the next day (and spend a day or two in BKK checking out temples while you wait).
Another agency I have seen operating in BKK for years is
/> Chekc out an agent in Singapore too. Go to the nicest hotel in town and ask their concierge for a recommendation of an agent. I think they have similarly priced flights.
